1. How long will it take to set up the bouncy castle before the event start time?
You need to ask the company how much time they would need for the installation and inflation of the inflatable. You could make other preparations beforehand and expect the technicians to arrive on site to ensure the device is ready before the crowd starts coming in. If you need the installations be done at a certain time, you could always mention it to the providers so that there are no hitches.
Another factor to keep in mind that there is a chance that yours isn’t the only booking for entertainment for that same day. Bouncy castles are big and heavy and require good amount of time. And if you have more than one piece of inflatables, then the installation time extends accordingly.
2. Would you provide power and water?
Most entertainment providers rely on the supply of water that is available onsite upon arrival. It’s up to you as the customer and event organizer to ensure arrangements of ample water if you have hired out a water slide. Or any other ride that involves water.
If not a possibility, it’s recommended that a water tank is hired.
Power is the most important thing of the day. All inflatables require a constant power source to keep them running and inflated. If the power circuit is supplying energy to more than one unit, it’s likely that it will trip, which could be dangerous for the kids playing inside. They could lead to deflation of the inflatables even the power cuts off for a minute.
It’s recommended that you double check the number of power outlets are required for different circuits upon booking. You should consider the possibility of hiring a generator if you are unable to provide power; talk to your provider about it. A generator could be a great option for events covering a large area with limited access to electrical outlets.
3. What about vehicle access?
This is a no-brainer because bouncy castles= heavy and huge!
The inflatables look very impressive and appealing when all blown up, but its important that we remember that they weigh more than 200 kilograms, so its easier and recommended that the units are dropped at the venue by the vehicle itself. Its humanly impossible to push around something that gigantic all around.
Therefore, its vital that there’s enough space for such vehicles to enter the venue and drop off the units.
4. Do I need to pay for operators?
Although they may cost you extra money, and not always needed, but the presence of operators/ technicians is advisable at the venue. Either that, or your own set of volunteers should be at a stand-by throughout the duration of the event.
5. How far in advance should I book?
The answer is varied. If you are looking to hire an exclusive or highly popular unit than it’s only wise to secure it as soon as possible.
Another variable is the holding time. The providing company may not be able to hold the unit(s) for you on your dates for too long. Usually, companies confirm your booking by taking a certain amount of down payment. So, if more than one customer is asking for the same unit, whoever secures it by paying first, gets to secure the unit
